what it's not

i hear people talk about all the extra energy they have when they work out, how it makes them feel better, etc. working out has done NONE of those things for me. but i know it’s something i NEED to do, so i do it. i think in the long run the benefits will pay for themselves, but right now it’s just a big pain to do. i’m a year and a half into it, so hopefully it’s a habit i’ll keep.

no update in a while, but i managed a mile in 7 minutes today. very rough. we’ll see if i can repeat it next week. two more times and i’m calling this one done.

so as it happened...

i was in the post office today waiting in line. postal worker calls out of nowhere “sir i can help you over in the passport office.” is that irony or what? still don’t have a passport. or application to get one. by december. for sure.

so...

i did it. not the 7 minute mile: 2 minutes on 8.5 mph. actually it was longer than 2 minutes and i trimmed 10 seconds off my 8 minute mile. i can now say i ran a mile in less than 8 minutes. now if i can do it again….

holy moley!

i ran thirty or forty seconds on 8.5 mph today. jimminy jeepers was it bad! that’s what it will take to get through the 7 minute mile. i’ll try it for two minutes on thursday.
